A suspect in the killings of five people at a rural property outside Forest Grove, Oregon, was found dead inside a vehicle in Enumclaw, Washington, officials said Monday.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as 36-year-old Benjamin Charles Parker. Investigators had tracked Parker to Enumclaw before local officers found him deceased inside his vehicle. Authorities said they believe his death was a suicide.
The development came one day after authorities publicly confirmed that five people had been found dead at a property on Northwest Otis Lane outside Forest Grove. The deaths are being investigated as a quintuple homicide.

Washington County sheriff's deputies responded to 47350 NW Otis Lane at about 5:27 a.m. Saturday after firefighters were called to a reported vehicle fire.
Fire personnel discovered human remains and requested law enforcement assistance. Investigators subsequently found five people dead, along with several domestic animals.
Authorities initially withheld the identities of the victims and details about how they died. Officials said the crime scene was unusually complex and required assistance from multiple law enforcement and forensic agencies.
The Washington County Major Crimes Team and Oregon State Police Crime Lab were among the agencies involved in processing the property. Investigators also received support from forensic, search-and-rescue, tactical and animal-services teams.
Investigators said they did not believe the killings were a random act of violence. At the time of the initial investigation, no suspect had been taken into custody.
The sheriff's office later identified Parker as the suspect and determined that he was in Enumclaw, Washington. Enumclaw officers located his vehicle and found him dead inside, according to officials.
